THE—GEODESIC SANCTUARY
Dissolving the boundary between shelter and nature, this sanctuary utilizes a complex steel exoskeleton to frame the forest canopy. It is a study in transparency, where mathematical precision meets the organic rhythm of light and shadow.

THE—INTERPLAY OF LIGHT
Situated within a dense forest on the outskirts of Kyoto, the Geodesic Sanctuary reimagines the traditional glasshouse. The intricate steel framework supports a crystalline skin, designed to capture and refract the shifting patterns of sunlight through the canopy. It is an architecture of total transparency.
THE—GEOMETRIC SPIRIT
Every angle of the structure is calculated to optimize thermal performance while maintaining a delicate, ephemeral aesthetic. The central atrium serves as a focal point for reflection, housing a suspended lighting installation that echoes the mathematical precision of the exterior shell, creating a dialogue between math and nature.
THE—BOTANICAL IMMERSION
The interior spaces are organized around a series of internal gardens, allowing the forest to bleed into the living areas. Natural ventilation is facilitated by the geodesic geometry, which encourages a constant flow of fresh air. The flooring consists of reclaimed timber, providing a warm, organic contrast to the precision of the steel.
THE—ZEN MINIMALISM
In keeping with the local context, the project follows a philosophy of "Ma," or the beauty of empty space. Furniture is kept to a minimum, and storage is concealed within the structural nodes to ensure the focus remains on the surrounding greenery. It is a space for meditation, where the passage of time is measured by the movement of shadows.
